November 1, 2007 -- Roof sheathing is on a good bit of the house on the driveway side.


November 1, 2007 -- The second floor joists are installed in the garage. The subfloor will be installed soon.


November 1, 2007 -- The front (river side) has some plywood sheathing on the roof.


November 1, 2007 -- This is where the front porch will be built. It will be covered with brick pavers. The photo was taken from the master bedroom doors.


November 1, 2007 -- The opening upstairs allows people to look into the living room.


November 3, 2007 -- The roof has most of the sheathing on it. The bay window shows up a little better now. The foundation curtain wall will be covered with a wooden hog fence between the brick "piers."


November 3, 2007 -- This is the view of the driveway from the bay window upstairs.


November 3, 2007 -- There is a opening on the upstairs hallway that overlooks the living room The far side of the living room has three large windows. You can see the rough opening for the windows.


November 3, 2007 -- The garage second floor has its subfloor down now. Since this is for storage, this is the only floor it will get (for now). The "L" shaped opening on the lower right side is for the stairwell.


November 3, 2007 -- This is Mrs. Weiss standing in her not-quite-finished living room. It was taken from the upstairs balcony. The front porch will be built on the foundation visible outside. Work will begin on it early this coming week.


November 3, 2007 -- The floors for the pergola and outdoor kitchen are poured. The outdoor kitchen (just past the fireplace foundation) will have a wall built on each side. The fireplace will have a glass back so the fire will be visible from the outdoor kitchen.


November 6, 2007 -- The garage roof will be built in the next few days. There was a material mix up on the rafters and new ones had to be ordered.


November 6, 2007 -- The front of the house is taking shape. The black band around the bottom is where the front porch will join the house. It provides an extra margin of moisture protection in case rain blows on the porch up to the house.


November 6, 2007 -- Block will be laid for the front porch today. The porch will be a suspended concrete slab paved with bricks.


November 7, 2007 -- The garage roof framing has begun. The garage has three dormers; two on the driveway side and one on the river side.


November 7, 2007 -- The gable end of the roof faces the house. The top row of plywood has not been installed because it will tie the first and second floor walls.


November 7, 2007 -- The ledger blocks are in place around part of the perimeter. It will be finished today. Steel for the deck will be delivered today. The rebar will be bent over into the slab when it is poured.


November 8, 2007 -- The garage roof framing is continuing. The two gaps in the rafters are where dormers will be built. There is also one in the rafters on the far side although it is difficult to see. The dormer on the far (river) side is at the right edge of the roof.


November 8, 2007 -- This is steel for the suspended slab on the front (river side) porch. It will be cut to fit inside the blocks.


November 8, 2007 -- The wooden beams will be poured with concrete when the deck is poured. They will form strong concrete beams.


November 8, 2007 -- The walls of the outdoor kitchen are now in place. Notice the extra rows of block that were added for the front porch.


November 9, 2007 -- The garage roof is getting plywood sheathing. The large opening closest to the camera is where the stairwell dormer will be built.


November 9, 2007 -- The rough in stairs are in place. They are just inside the front door. The stairs have two landings.


November 9, 2007 -- The steel decking is in place for the front (river side) porch suspended slab. Extra steel will be added around the perimeter to support border bricks.


November 9, 2007 -- Ice and water shield is being installed on the roof. This roof is over the mud hall.


November 9, 2007 -- This is a detail of the bay window. The small gable has a window. The rear porch is shown at the bottom of the photo.


November 12, 2007 -- The porch steel has rebar on it. It will be poured in several days. We are waiting for angle iron to be galvanized for the perimeter.


November 12, 2007 -- The garage has more plywood sheathing on it. The stairs will be built in the next few days.


November 14, 2007 -- The front (river side) porch has been poured. It will be paved with bricks before long.


November 14, 2007 -- The front porch as seen from the outdoor kitchen. The area on the left is the fireplace foundation. Notice the treated plywood and water and ice shield next to the house to protect the house from moisture.


November 14, 2007 -- The outdoor kitchen now has brick columns and trim. The columns will have wooden columns on them to support the roof.


November 20, 2007 -- The outdoor kitchen is being built. The smoker will be installed between these two brick faced walls.


November 20, 2007 -- Garage framing is continuing. It should be completed tomorrow. The garage has two dormers with windows on this side and a single dormer over the stairway on the far side.


November 20, 2007 -- Much of the plumbing rough in was done yesterday. It will be finished very soon. The green coating is termite treatment.


November 21, 2007 -- Angle iron is being bolted to the edge of the porch to support the brick deck. The bricks need to extend to the edge of the brick columns. The steel angles were galvanized to protect them from salt air.


November 21, 2007 -- This is another view of the angle on the edge of the porch. The anchor bolts are epoxied into the concrete slab. Brick work will begin in a few days.


November 23, 2007 -- The front dormers are in place and sheathed. Brickwork will begin this coming week on the front porch. The roof sheathing is off the roof at the bottom so the porch roof can tie in.


November 23, 2007 -- There will be a walkway from the garage to the house. The three openings on the house will be three doors. Only the center one is operational. The openings have to be cut out at the bottom.


November 23, 2007 -- The house looks quite dramatic from the river. Once the pergola and outdoor kitchen are in place, the house itself will be less visible from this angle.


November 26, 2007 -- The ceilings in the mud room and several other rooms have a break in them to accommodate the shed roofs. The ceilings will be flat at the 12 foot level and then slope down slightly.


November 26, 2007 -- The outdoor kitchen now has a step down to the pergola. The smoker will be installed on the right. A steak grill and fryer will be on the left.


November 27, 2007 -- The garage roof is sheathed. Dormer walls have to be built.


November 27, 2007 -- The front (river) side of the garage roof is also sheathed. The two gable walls need a bit more plywood to finish them.


November 27, 2007 -- The brick masons are starting to lay brick on the front (river side) porch. They have the bricks laid out so they can get the joints even.


November 28, 2007 -- Posts are being installed on the rear (land side) porch. The posts are large laminated columns.


November 28, 2007 -- The garage stairway has been built.They are built under the front (river side) dormer.


November 28, 2007 -- The stairway dormer window in the garage has a nice view of the river.


November 28, 2007 -- The garage upstairs will be a storage area. It will not be finished inside. The far end has a window down near the floor in the center.


November 28, 2007 -- Brick has been laid around the perimeter of the porch. Now columns can be set and the front (river side) porch can be framed. The steel rods are to anchor the posts.
