August 2, 2007 -- The ceilings in the dining room and kitchen are painted. Cork flooring should be installed in the kitchen, bar, powder room and laundry room today.

August 6, 2007 -- The cork floor is down and the walls are painted the final color. Cork flooring went in the powder room, laundry room, bar and kitchen.

August 6, 2007 -- The bar floor is now nice and solid. It had soft spots in it before the remodel job.

August 7, 2007 -- The bricks for the dining room door steps have arrived. The steps will be built in the next few days.

August 7, 2007 -- The wide pine floor lumber has arrived.As soon as the wood floor's moisture level is the same as the Dining room, it will be installed.

August 14, 2007 -- The framework for the ceiling beams is being installed. The beams will be cypress.

August 15, 2007 -- The window trim has been installed on some of the windows. The windows have a unique casing that matches the older part of the house.

August 15, 2007 -- The cypress ceiling beams are being installed. They will receive a small trim board at the top next to the ceiling.

August 17, 2007 -- The new bi-hinge door between the kitchen and living room is installed. The hardware will be put on it soon.

August 17, 2007 -- The door between the kitchen and dining room is a swinging door that was between the kitchen and bar.

August 17, 2007 -- The ceiling beams match those in the older part of the house.

August 17, 2007 -- This is a close up of the unique window and door casing which was made to match that in the house.

August 22, 2007 -- It is difficult to see what was added from the outside. The trim, roof and paint match well.

August 22, 2007 -- The new old growth heart pine floor was installed yesterday. It will be finished in a day or so.

August 22, 2007 -- The kitchen cabinets arrived last evening. They will be installed starting this morning. It took 43 boxes to ship them.

August 23, 2007 -- The kitchen cabinets are being installed. The installation should be completed today. The finish on the cabinets is beautiful.

August 23, 2007 -- The cabinets fill the kitchen. The countertop will be templated today or Monday.

August 23, 2007 -- The bar is in place. The close end will have a place for a bar stool. Both legs will be stained to match the cabinets.

August 24, 2007 -- The dining room beam (away from the camera) looks like an extension of the living room beam (close to the camera).

August 27, 2007 -- The floor has a second coat of stain and sealer. It will be finished in the next day or two.

August 27, 2007 -- The cabinets have crown installed on them. The tops will be templated for counter tops today.

August 29, 2007 -- The dining room floor has been stained and finished. It still needs baseboards and wall sconces.

August 30, 2007 -- The appliances are being installed. The kitchen will have two refrigerators/freezers.

August 30, 2007 -- The double oven is in place. It will be wired in the next day or so. Counter tops are due to be installed tomorrow.

August 30, 2007 -- The concrete block foundation wall has been stuccoed. It will be painted to match the old part of the house. A cover will be built for the access hole.

August 31, 2007 -- The dining room brick steps are being built. They will match steps in the storage room.

August 31, 2007 -- The refrigerator/freezers are installed. The one close to the camera seems to be leaning because of lens distortion. Granite counter tops should be installed today.

August 31, 2007 -- The hood is installed. It will be vented outside in a day or so. The cooktop will be installed after the counter tops are installed.

August 31, 2007 -- Baseboard has been installed in the dining room. The walls still need the final coat of paint.

August 31, 2007 -- The granite tops are installed. They have an ogee edges as you can see against the wall. The floor has protective paper on it in places.

August 31, 2007 -- Look at the finish on the island granite top. This is ubatuba granite.

August 31, 2007 -- Notice the very nice inside corners treatments.

August 31, 2007 -- The stove top and hood are installed. Gas has to be hooked up to the stove top. The hood vent has to be put on the exterior.
